Byggevirke & Datter is a small co-operative carpentry company and building contractor focused on environmentally sound construction.

Meet us here!

The construction industry is responsible for up to 40 percent of worldwide carbon emissions, and about 30 percent of Denmark’s total. In order to meet the national goal of a 70 percent reduction of emissions by 2030, we are faced with a major challenge – but also with opportunities.

As someone taking part in the building industry, our goal is to contribute to the green transition of the industry as a whole. We want to do this by developing and constructing healthy and environmentally friendly buildings – that is, buildings with a low carbon footprint, a low impact on the local environment, and a long lifespan – while also sharing knowledge, offering advice and consultancy about sustainable construction to the industry and to society as a whole.

Through environmentally conscious craftsmanship and consultation on ecological construction, we work with every phase of the building process, with a special focus on creating healthy and climate-friendly environments for people. We take responsibility for the complete realization of building projects, with a focus on minimal environmental impact and good working conditions during construction.

Our core activities are

  • Development and execution of environmentally sound construction projects in the form of renovations, building transformations, and development of new buildings –  including carpentry and joinery services as well as complete project management.

  • Advice and guidance, design, documentation, and development of sustainable construction projects, including architectural services and drafting.

  • Distribution of knowledge, experiences, and solutions to the construction industry and the general public about the environmental aspects of the built environment.
